After jumping well from the gates, Wouldnt It Be Nice was settled withing the back by young jockey Sam Clipperton while I’m All The Talk, Rain Affair and Nuclear Class set the pace up front.

In the home straight Wouldnt It Be Nice raced up to join the leaders and surged ahead with 200m to go. Nuclear Class claimed second ahead of wet-track specialist Rain Affair in third.

“All preparation he’s been terrific, he’s always been around the mark and last start he had to go right around and his run was terrific,” stable representative Nathan Perry said.

“Full credit to dad [trainer Paul Perry] for taking on the main event here today for sprinters; one thing we knew was we were happy coming in here today with a heavy track.

“The horse has done terrific all prep, glad for the owners and the stable, it’s going great.”
