Nominations Announced For 2012 Concorde Stakes

September 3rd, 2012

Nominations have been released for the Group 3 Concorde Stakes, which is set to run at Warwick Farm Racecourse this Saturday September 8, 2012.

Included in the 2012 Concorde Stakes is Atomic Force.

The seven-year-old will be looking to win some more Group 1’s this spring after a successful start to 2012 in January.

The Danehill Dancer gelding won the Group 1 Railway Stakes at Ellerslie in New Zealand on January 1st before placing a close second behind Guiseppina in the Group 1 Telegraph Handicap.

Atomic Force placed a close fourth in his first spring start at Moonee Valley racecourse last start in the Listed Carlyon Stakes.

The gelding has won 11 of his 38 race starts and has earned more than $750,000 in prize money during his career.

Also included in the 2012 Concorde Stakes is Rain Affair, who will be making his spring return in the race.

The Commands gelding has won 11 of his 15 race starts and has earned more than $1 million in prize money.

Rain Affair was one of the biggest autumn players, winning the Group 2 Expressway Stakes, Group 2 Apollo Stakes and Group 2 Challenge Stakes.

Despite his success, he is still chasing that elusive Group 1 victory.

The five-year-old is trained by Joseph Pride at Warwick Farm and will be looking to begin his spring campaign on a high in the 2012 Concorde Stakes.
